WASHING MACHINE PROBLEMS

LOUD SOUNDS

The most reoccurring type of washing machine repair is for loud sounds coming out of the machine. Repairmen can troubleshoot the cause of the strange sound and decide if we need to repair or replace the broken parts. The cause of the sound is typically due to a broken motor or worn-out bearings or belt.

DOES NOT TURN ON

In the event your washing machine will not agitate, first check to see if it is unplugged or if a circuit breaker is flipped off. The issue could also be due to a broken door latch, thermal fuse or timer. A washer that will not agitate means the agitator cogs, drive belt, coupler or transmission need repair or replacement.

DOES NOT SPIN

OVERFLOWING

The usual reasons for a washer overflowing is either the water level pressure switch, water inlet valve or the air dome tube on the machine.

NO HOT OR COLD WATER

A malfunctioning temperature control switch or inlet hose is typically the reason a washer does not produce cold or hot water.

A very typical dryer issue is strange noises coming from the machine. Broken bearings, seals or worn belts often lead to loud noises from clothes dryers.

DOESN’T DRY

A dryer that does not create enough heat to dry clothing isn’t very useful. The reason for the problem is either a broken high-limit thermostat, heating element or cycling thermostat. These exact same parts could cause a dryer to be too hot too. Our repairman will troubleshoot the machine to uncover the issue and solution.

WON’T TURN ON OR TUMBLE

If your dryer will not turn on, you want to be sure the dryer is not unplugged and every one of the circuit breakers are flipped on. If the appliance is not unplugged and still will not turn on or tumble, the heating element, high limit thermostat or cycling thermostat will likely have to be repaired or replaced.

DOESN’T SHUT OFF

The opposite problem happens when the dryer won’t shut off. The reason for this particular issue is usually either a broken door switch or timer.

TIMER WON’T ADVANCE

A dryer timer must advance in order to complete the cycle. When the timer won’t advance, it could mean there is a broken timer motor or cycling thermostat.
